4th HTx General Assembly – 20th – 21st April 2022 Budapest, Hungary

Between the 20th – 21st of April 2022, the fourth HTx General Assembly took place in Budapest, Hungary. The two-day hybrid meeting of consortium members included updates on all work packages and case studies, as well as a methods workshop, a presentation on transferability and showcases of the various case studies.

The program started with a welcome speech by Zoltán Kaló, CEO of Syreon Research Institute (Hungary) and an overview of HTx’s past year from the project coordinator, Wim Goettsch (University of Utrecht, The Netherlands). Following this, work package leaders and case study holders had an allocated timeslot to update all the attendants about the progress and challenges of their research.

The second morning saw a series of detailed presentations of the various case studies, where representatives of case study researchers had the chance to present their progress to all HTx consortium members in detail and receive direct feedback. These showcases were followed by three workshops on generalizability, comparing and combining statistical models and machine learning algorithms and transferability. The two-day session ended with a summary of the event by the project coordinator.

The HTx project strongly relies on collaboration between work packages, the implementation and transferability of research findings, case study development, and generalisation of the findings from said case studies. Such events, therefore, are of great importance, as they give researchers the chance to share ideas and set the path for next-generation health technology assessment.

We would like to thank all our colleagues who participated and presented at the event, and the teams at Syreon Research Institute and Synapse, for organising and managing the event.
